Our Canvas Community

At Canvas, community is more than a concept—it’s the foundation of how we work. We’re a global network of experts, collaborators, and changemakers committed to helping people and organizations thrive. Our community includes the full Canvas team: facilitators, coaches, learning designers, strategists, and client experience leads—all united by a shared belief in the power of Transformative Learning and meaningful partnership.

We see our clients as part of this community, too. They aren’t just recipients of our work—they’re co-creators. Together, we shape learning journeys that reflect real needs, real goals, and real growth. Whether we’re navigating a leadership transition, scaling a culture initiative, or developing high-potential talent, every engagement is built on trust, collaboration, and mutual learning.

This community is where insight meets impact, where deep expertise meets fresh perspective—and where we continually challenge each other to grow.

Susan Gray

Chief Creative Officer

As Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner, I’m the architect behind The Canvas Way — our signature transformative engine that helps leaders navigate disruption and evolve with purpose. With more than 30 years in corporate consulting, I blend neuroscience, and the arts to disrupt conventional leadership paradigms. Most recently, I pioneered Transformative Intelligence (TQ) — a breakthrough concept that reframes transformative capacity — enabling frontier organizations to thrive through disruption.

Why is transformative capacity important now?
Disruption is relentless; what worked yesterday often collapses under new realities. The real differentiator isn’t another skill set — it’s a leader’s transformative capacity: the ability to shift their own meaning-making, and move themselves and others into new ways of thinking and acting when old playbooks no longer apply. This is what activates leadership as a responsibility — not a title — to cultivate the conditions for progress, even as the ground keeps shifting.

Tracy Benton

VP of Finance & People Operations

I serve as Vice President of Finance and People Operations, overseeing the organization’s financial health and supporting employee-focused initiatives. I manage core financial functions including payroll, invoicing, tax preparation, insurance, audits, reporting, and 401(k) administration. On the people operations side, I shape employment policies and oversee the selection and administration of employee benefits.

What core values guide your leadership philosophy?
Integrity guides my leadership philosophy, grounded in the belief that showing up with honesty and consistency builds trust and strengthens collaboration.

Jez Benton

Chief Executive Officer

I am the Founder and CEO at Canvas. As a practicing CEO I straddle running and growing Canvas and designing award-winning programs aligned to strategic drivers, core business issues, and business/culture transformation for our clients. I excel at building trust and forming long-term partnerships with client’s where talent and leadership development are key drivers of business growth.

What core values guide your leadership philosophy?
My core values are Friendship, Adventure, and Enjoyment. These permeate everything I do in life.

Markia Berrios

Program Manager

I serve as a Program Manager at Canvas, coordinating the design and delivery of client engagements from start to finish. My role focuses on aligning our internal teams and external partners, managing timelines and resources, and ensuring every program runs smoothly. I help create the structure that allows facilitators and coaches to focus on impact while clients experience Canvas’s transformative learning journey with clarity and confidence. In addition, I support our data governance efforts.

What part of your role motivates you the most?
What motivates me most is seeing how the structure and clarity I create behind the scenes enables others to do their best work. I love aligning teams, smoothing out processes, and making sure the right pieces are in place so facilitators and coaches can focus fully on impact—and clients can experience Canvas programs with confidence and ease. I’m also energized by my work in data governance, knowing that the systems and safeguards we build not only protect our information but also help us share.

Bruce Landry

Chief Experience Officer

As Chief Experience Officer and Managing Partner at Canvas, my role includes responsibility for shaping the end-to-end client and participant experience – from design of transformative journeys to the delivery of award-winning client solutions. At its core, my role balances strategy and execution, relationship and rigor, ensuring Canvas continues to disrupt with purpose and deliver experiences that expand human potential and organizational impact.

Why is transformative capacity important now?
Transformative capacity is vital today because the pace, scale, and complexity of change far outstrip the tools and mindsets many organizations still rely on. Disruption is no longer occasional — it is constant. Transformative capacity is the muscle that allows people and systems to move beyond resilience into evolution — shifting assumptions, embracing paradox, and turning uncertainty into innovation.

Paul McCarthy

Senior Consultant

I'm supporting Canvas as it continues to grow and evolve its brand with the range of existing clients and new clients it chooses to serve with their transformative learning, leadership development and culture transformation needs.

What core values guide your leadership philosophy?
I champion cultures where truth travels faster than fear - creating the conditions for honest, open, and accountable conversations that surface hard issues early, end toxic patterns, and unlock fresh thinking with leaders. I guide leaders to practice candor with compassion, turn discomfort into learning, and build organizations that are both humane and high-performing.
